CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS FISHING CHARTERS

Salmon fishing charters in Ketchikan
Ketchikan is a major cruise ship port with charter fishing one of its most popular excursions. There are many advantages to booking your fishing charter directly with Salty Sea Charters. Our fishing charters are exclusive, private and offer flexibility with your schedule. We assure that you will never feel like you are just a number. Booking directly with us will save you money; a 4 hour fishing charter with us is just $135 per person compared to the $180 to $190 per person that you would pay for a 4 hour fishing charter through the cruise ship. See our 2008 port schedule for cruise ship arrival/departure times for Ketchikan. (We are not responsible for any changes to the 2008 Alaska Cruise Ship Schedule.)

Catch Alaska HalibutFor those of you whose ships are in port for a while, we recommend that you book our 6 hour fishing charter for $170 per person. The 6 hour fishing charter is a great way to spend your day in Ketchikan. We will have more time on the water, allowing us to run further, and giving us the maximum amount of time find the hottest fishing action. You will also have a better chance to see some of Alaska's wildlife such as bald eagles, whales, porpoise, and seals. We offer a 6 hour combo fishing charter for $180 per person. This charter allows you to get the best of both worlds fishing for both salmon and halibut.

Your fishing adventure begins as soon as you get off the cruise ship. Once off the ship, you will easily spot us down on the dock holding a sign with your fishing parties' name on it. Fishing with us eliminates waiting in long lines or the need to catch a bus or a taxi cab in order to reach the boat. We are conveniently parked in close proximity to where your ship docks, making it a quick 3 to 4 minute walk to get to.

Aboard the fishing boat, you can purchase your Alaskan fishing license for $20 (children under 16 are exempt). If the King Salmon are biting, we recommend that you buy a King Salmon Stamp for an extra $10. Once we are underway our running time is usually very minimal. The great thing about fishing in Ketchikan is that some of the finest salmon fishing action is just 15 to 20 minutes from where your cruise ship docks. This gives you plenty of time to hook a feisty chrome bright salmon or a "barn door" halibut. It is all here, so what's stopping you!Alaska Red Snapper or Yellow Eye

Shipping your catch home is a great way to take part of your Alaskan fishing adventure back with you. There is custom processing available through Cedars Lodge. After your fishing excursion we will take your catch of the day to Cedars, where they will filet, vacuum pack, flash freeze and box your fish for you. It is shipped overnight by Fed Ex on the day you specify. Their rates typically run around $4.50 a pound.
